Racer (15 min, 2010) for Z@PP (AVRO)

Racer is a youth documentary about Sophie Lansink, a very determined twelve-year-old from The Netherlands. Sophie dreams of becoming a Formula 1 racer, and is the only girl competing in the Dutch National Karting Championships.
But she has a problem: Sophie suffers from a rare muscular disease, which causes her to tire very quickly.
Not discouraged, she sets out to perform as well as she did before she fell ill. Will she make her dream come true?

premiere RACER: 23rd of October 16hours at the Cinekid Festival at Ketelhuis Cinema Amsterdam. On October 28th the short documentary will be screened again. Both director and lead characters will be attending the screenings and the Q&A afterwards. Order your tickets trough the Cinekid Festival.
